After attending VICTAM and ANIMAL HEALTH & NUTRITION last September, we returned to IMPACT in Bangkok. It was so exciting to see so many of our fellow traders and friends back at VIV when people were free from the stuck of the epidemic.

Veterinary APIs and feed additives have always been the mainstay of our export business. Over the past few years, the supply of APIs, vitamins and amino acids in the Chinese market has been subject to various factors. The prices have always gone up and down, sometimes dramatically, with some commodities continuing to fluctuate in one direction for a long time. This has created considerable difficulties for overseas buyers to schedule and determine their prices accurately. We have been continuously monitoring market changes since the beginning of 2017 and have produced a monthly NEWSLETTER to send to interested and potential customers and posted it on our company website for our friends to download for reference.

With the rapid changes in the market, foreign buyers have very clever coping strategies, such as fewer quantity orders requiring fast delivery from suppliers. We can meet this demand. We have a regular stock of a few standard APIs and vitamins and can respond quickly.

The reduction of antibiotics is a global trend, but there are different ways of antibiotic replacement. Probiotics, acidifiers, enzymes, plant extracts, and others have various proponents. The concept of plant extracts, which combines the theories of traditional Chinese medicine with the modern Western science of medicine and physiology, may be more easily understood and accepted. Macleaya Cordata extract (antibacterial and anti-inflammatory), Astragalus extract (improving immunity), essential oils (antibacterial and anti-inflammatory) and Marigold extract (enhancing the colour of poultry products) were among the products we highlighted at the show.
